Description:

Karitiâna or Caritiana is a Tupi language of Brazil. The nasals /m n ɲ/ are pre-stopped [bm dn ɟɲ] if they are preceded by an oral vowel, and post-stopped [mb nd ɲɟ] if they are followed by one. The velar nasal /ŋ/ is denasalized [ɡ] before oral vowels in unstressed syllables, post-stopped [ŋɡ] before oral vowels in stressed syllables, and pre-stopped [ɡŋ] after oral vowels.
